about

The world as we know it has taken on several forms with each future generation guided by their perceptions instilled in them from birth. The roles of a maternal figure in a child’s life are astronomically important when contributing to the success of young male/female relationships. A Woman feeds every element of humanity and nature on this planet. It’s through her, that we all are given birth and can be naturally fed as well. This song was inspired by the big studio production work of Stevie Wonder and Issac Hayes which assisted Harris in laying out a blue print towards expressing his gratitude to all of the strong women in our lives. After touring the UAE after 911 and seeing the impact of the recession on the quality of living amongst women globally fighting to feed their children, Shannon teamed up with song writer, Avery R. Young, to produce a song that spoke on what they saw in the urban communities locally. This song existing of a 4 movement 12+ minute EPIC story took a huge staff and budget to manifest into reality. Starting from a bossa nova soul groove to a classical symphonic saga it travels to many places ending with an innocent dose of piano and sincere, heart felt vocals. The project spanning over several years was recorded at Groove Entourage Studio with the mix session taking place at CRC (Chicago Recordings Company). At CRC, Dennis Tousana and Shannon Harris used a classic analog Neve console almost crashing the automation fader computer. The full 12+ minute version masters being recorded to ½ inch tape will be released on limited edition vinyl with the radio version available on the CD.
